John DeRiggi, Principal and Founder of Putnam Atlantic Properties brings 25 years of hands-on student housing and multifamily investment experience. John directed the expansive growth of student housing businesses dating back to the mid-1990's when he was part of the management team at GMH Associates, a pioneer in student housing and one of the first to bring institutional investment to the space. He has completed transactions valued in excess of $4 billion, comprising 64,000 units and 85,000 student beds.
John DeRiggi has extensive experience in both public and private environments. He has worked with "name brand" institutional capital partners and high net worth investors. John was part of the team which launched the IPO of the largest student housing REIT listed on the NYSE at the time. He served as President of Student Housing, and the REIT's Chief Investment Officer. John has completed $4 Billion in transactions and has been responsible for the operational oversight of 70,000 student housing beds with 1,200 employees at properties located throughout the United States.
